You’d be surprised how many events are planned for the summer period in the big city. More and more people understand that not everyone is able to travel during the summer months and hence the popularity and variety of great summer events is increasing every year. I decided to check what Sofia can offer us for August and I was very pleasantly surprised by the variety of things planned for this month.
So here are the four best events in Sofia that you can check out for your summer in the city.
Botanic Prosecco Party

Summer came a bit later this year with all the rain in June and July. But it is finally here so is there a better way to welcome it than a glass of prosecco in the Botanical garden?
The Botanical Prosecco party is organized by Spensierato and the University Botanical garden and will be held on 11 August (Saturday) from 1 pm in the Botanical garden. I have been to the garden on a couple of occasions and I am certain that this is the best place to host such an event and I am very happy that more and more events are actually held there.
The entrance to the event is 4 BGN and 2 BGN for university students. And what is more important – all the money will actually go towards the Botanical garden 🙂

International Mojito Festival

To continue the nice subject of cocktails in the long summer
days/nights, the International Mojito Festival is one of the best ways to enjoy the famous refreshing cocktails with your friends. What is more, this is an international festival so cities such as London and Brussels will take part as well.
The bars that will take part in the festival will be announced soon so be sure to check the official Facebook event regularly in order not to miss it. I’ve already added it to my events so I hope to see some of you there 🙂

Vitosha Run 2018
And last but definitely not least, the annual Vitosha run will take place on 26 August.
We are lucky enough to live in one of the few European capitals which is surrounded by mountains. It is only a short ride and you are able to enjoy nature in one of the dozens of hiking trails that Vitosha mountain can offer you. I am about to spend one day in the mountain very soon so stay around for the blog post 🙂
Vitosha Run is a 18 km mountain run from the city to Cherni vrah peak. It is for sure a hard run so only experienced runners should take part.
