Have you noticed that in Christmas movies families always enjoy a perfect-looking and amazingly delicious cake? It does not matter whether that would be a piece of cake, biscuits or cup cakes – every Christmas table has some kind of a sweet desert.
I have always wanted to replicate this feeling in my home as well but as many people know cooking is not really my thing. For this reason I decided to find an easy recipe that would replicate the Christmas coziness but would require limited time and ingredients to be prepared.
And this is how this easy biscuit cake turned out to be one of our most favourite cakes at home. It literally takes a few minutes to prepare it with very few ingredients but its impact remains for a long time. The combination of apples and cinnamon is by far one of the most classic and delicious combinations for the winter season.
Don’t be afraid of cooking – give this recipe a try and you will be sorry that you have not tried it before. Cooking can bring such a joy when you see the delighted faces of your loved ones when you enjoy a piece of the cake together.

Christmas Biscuit Cake
Ingredients
- 400 g biscuits
- 800 g sour cream
- 700 g apples
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 vanilla
- A cup of ground walnuts
Directions
- Step 1 The first step of the easiest Christmas cake is the preparation of the ingredients. Wash carefully the apples and grate them on the large holes of a paddle. Then put them in a big bowl and mix them with walnuts, vanilla and cinnamon. Put the sour cream and the sugar in another bowl, mix the ingredients and separate 1/3 of the mixture so that you can use it for your top layer of the cake. Mix the rest of the mixture with the apples and stir well.
- Step 2 Now you will start building your cake. Put a layer of biscuits at the bottom of a rectangular baking tray, then a layer of the sour cream-apples mixture. Continue building your cake until your reach your final layer which would be the clear sour cream.
- Step 3 Leave the cake in the refrigerator for at least 3 or 4 hours.
The best part of this recipe is of course sharing a piece of it with your loved ones with a cup of a warm drink (my personal favourite without any doubt is the homemade hot cocoa).
