Today’s post will be yet another look back at 2020 but this time I will be focusing on the best beauty finds of the year instead of my favorite blog posts. Last year was extremely successful in terms of new beauty finds discovered among a global pandemic. 2020 saw changes in how we work and live, with an emphasis on being at home. This shift has, undoubtedly, influenced not only what we wear, but also what beauty products we use on a daily basis – comfort, work from home, and everyday essentials came at the forefront. The year has reminded us that beauty can be understated and that we should dress in what pleases us, whether casual or dressy, as another way to add a touch of happiness and self-care on any given day.
That’s why the majority of the products featured in this post are actually the products that I used the most during my “me-time” sessions at home. The very few make-up products that I used in 2020 are ones that are perfect for that Zoom call or the daily walk around the block – some minor essentials that made me a bit more put together for all those rare occasions of social contact.
So here are my 20 beauty finds of 2020!
SKINCARE
After years of using the Bioderma Sébium gel moussant (review here), this year was time for a little change. I decided to tried Vichy’s Normaderm Phytosolution Purifying Gel and it did not disappoint a single bit – it was perfect for my daily morning and evening cleansing step of the skin care routine.
Another product from Vichy’s Normaderm line, but this time it’s their everyday moisturizer. The light formula is perfect for applying under any makeup you would like to use during the day.
The best thermal water spray for a quick refreshment throughout the day when the skin feels a bit tired after the many hours in front of the computer screen.
Recently, I have been dealing with some hormonal spots so I knew that I had to invest in some good quality spot treatment. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo(+) was my choice and it did not disappoint me – it has helped tremendously not only with the healing process but also with removing any residue marks.
Another product that I really rely on when it comes to spot treatment – this one is for direct use on the spot itself when it first appears.
HAIR
A luxurious yet lightweight formula that nourishes normal to dry hair, without weighing it down. Infused with fine coconut oil, the formula intensely nourishes, leaving hair feeling irresistibly soft whilst indulging your senses with an addictive coconut fragrance
I have also added the hair oil from the series which I apply on my ends just before blow drying my hair – it has helped considerably the combing process of my rather dry hair.
My heat protection spray of choice – the amazing smell was the thing that made me buy my first package all those months ago.

I bought this hair perfume just before the first lockdown last March with the idea to have something quick to refresh my hair at the office. Suffice it to say, this product has become a valuable addition to my daily hair care routine at home as well.
NAILS
The best top coat on the market for me! It dries out super fast leaving my nails extremely shiny for days on end.
I tried a few nail polish shades this year and Lady Like has become one of my favorites for everyday manicure. The delicate hue just goes with everything so I have found myself reaching out to it time and time again.
This 100% natural nail polish remover not only removes the nail polish effortlessly, but also does not dry out the skin or cuticles thanks to the organic apricot kernel extract and vitamin E.
Another Essie product but this time it is for the cuticles – the apricot smell is simply divine!
MAKEUP
Another product that I found just before the first lockdown last March and I can definitely say that it has become a staple in my makeup routine – I wear it with or without foundation on top of it just because sometimes all you need is a good base and that’s enough
I searched for a replacement of my usual heavy foundation formulas and Lumene’s CC Color Correcting Cream has been the perfect fit for me with its naturally derived ingredients.
The powder has just a hint of color that provides enough coverage to be worn over makeup or on bare, moistened skin.
The only mascara that I used throughout 2020 for the rare occasions when I wanted to look that I actually put an effort on my makeup
BODY
That’s has been my favorite body lotion of the last few months. It gives my skin the necessary vitality and it makes it velvety soft and nourished.
I apply it once a week for exfoliating and removing dull and dry skin. It deeply nourishes my skin and provides the necessary base for the softest and smoothest skin!
Have you used any of these products? Let me know in the comments which have been your personal beauty finds of 2020!
Thanks for the post. I haven’t tried these lines. It’s great to learn about something new. Be well!
